Traditional Chinese Medicine for Bondi Junction
Josephine treats a wide variety of issues, including acute muscle pains and also more complex health conditions that may have accompanied a patient for many years.
Your first visit will usually include a consultation similar to that of visiting your GP in a private consultation room, where you can discuss your health concerns and the reason for your visit.
You will also be asked a series of questions in relation to your health to gain a clear picture of your past and present health condition. Diagnostic techniques used by a TCM practitioner will usually include checking your pulse and observation of your tongue.
The San Jiao (Triple Burner or Triple Energiser) is unique in TCM — it is a Fu (yang) organ with "a name but no form." Unlike the other organs, it has no single anatomical structure, yet it plays a vital role as the body's waterway system and the coordinator of Qi transformation across three body regions. The concept of San Jiao is one of the most distinctly Chinese medical ideas, with no direct Western equivalent.
The Upper Jiao encompasses the chest region above the diaphragm, containing the Heart and Lungs. It is likened to a "mist" — dispersing Qi, Blood, and fluids outward and downward. The Middle Jiao spans the area between the diaphragm and the navel, containing the Spleen and Stomach. It functions like a "bubbling cauldron" — fermenting and transforming food and drink. The Lower Jiao covers the region below the navel, containing the Kidneys, Bladder, Liver, and Intestines. It acts as a "drainage ditch" — separating pure from impure and excreting waste.
The San Jiao meridian runs along the outer arm and is clinically important for conditions affecting the ears, temporal headaches, and disorders involving fluid metabolism across all three body regions. Points like SJ-5 (Waiguan, "Outer Pass") are commonly used to release exterior pathogens and treat headaches.
The Triple Burner (San Jiao) is a functional concept dividing the body into three zones: Upper (chest — misting), Middle (abdomen — transforming), and Lower (pelvis — draining). It coordinates Qi transformation and fluid metabolism across all regions. It has its own meridian but no single anatomical organ structure.
The San Jiao meridian, running along the outer arm to the ear, is commonly used for ear conditions (tinnitus, deafness), temporal and lateral headaches, rib-side pain, and disorders involving water metabolism such as oedema. SJ-5 (Waiguan) is a key point for releasing exterior pathogens.

Bondi Junction is an eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Bondi Junction is located 6 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district and is part of the local government area of the Waverley.
Bondi Junction is a largely commercial area which has undergone many changes since the late 20th century. There have been many major commercial and residential developments around the main street and surrounding area, notably a new bus/rail interchange and large shopping mall. Many of the original pubs have been maintained, notably, the Nelson Hotel, so named because of its location on Nelson Street, still exudes Bondi Junction's working class roots.
Bondi Beach is a neighbouring suburb to the east with a world-famous beach. Bondi and North Bondi are also neighbouring suburbs.
